பயன் தூக்கார் செய்த உதவி நயன் தூக்கின் – ‘இவர்க்கு இது செய்தால் இன்னது பயக்கும்,’ என்று ஆராய்தல் இலராய்ச் செய்த உதவியாகிய ஈரமுடைமையை ஆராயின், நன்மை கடலின் பெரிது அதன் நன்மை கடலினும் பெரிது ஆம்.
ஒருவருக்கு நாம் செய்யும் உதவியால் எந்தப் பயனும் வராது என்று தெரிந்தும் செய்கிறோம் என்றால் அந்த உதவி மிகவும் உயர்ந்த உதவியாகும். இப்படி நாம் உதவி செய்தால் நமது நெஞ்சில் ஈரம் இருக்கிறது என்று பொருள். எனவே இந்த உதவி இவ்வுலகில் உள்ள கடலை விடவும் பெரியது என்கிறார்.
இந்த உதவிக்கு வள்ளுவர் மூன்றாவது இடம் கொடுக்கிறார்.
மிகவும் வசதி படைத்தோருக்கு நாம் உதவி செய்கிறோம் என்றால் ஏதோ ஒரு நன்மையை அவர்களிடமிருந்து எதிர்பார்க்கிறோம் என்றே அர்த்தம் ஆகிறது. இது தர்மத்தை விலை பேசி விற்பதற்குச் சமமாகும். இது உதவியே ஆகாது.
இந்த மூன்று குறள்களும் முறையே காரணமின்றிச் செய்ததும், காலத்தினால் செய்ததும், பயன்தூக்கராய்ச் செய்ததும் கூறப்பட்டது.
